A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE.CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR'-
ING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING .REAL PROPERTY.
WITHIN TERRITORY. DESIGNATED AS. "VERDE NO. 3,"
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CiTY OF..BAKERS'
FIELD, CALIFORNIA,
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the CoUncil of the City of
Bakersfield, on the 30th day of March~ 1961~ requesting that certain
uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated
within the City of Bakersfield, and
-WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of all of the
'territory proposed to be annexed.
NOW!; TH]EREFORE, in complia'nce'with the provisions of the Annexa-
tion of:.,Uninhablted Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 2.97, as amended,
BE IT RESOLVED by the CounCil of the City of BakerSfield, as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed--
to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Section 36, Township 29 South, Range 27 East,

Beginning. at .the southeast (S. E.) corner of .the North 154 feet of
'the south half (S. 1/2) of Lot 4~ Block C. of GR~ENE'S TRACT, as per
map of said GREENE,S TRACT recorded November 9, 1905, in Book 1
of Maps at page 97,~in the of£ice of the County Recorder of said
Kern County, said point of beginning also-being a point on the
current corporate boundary of the City of.Bakersfie!d;'
THENCE (1) westerly along the southerly boundary of the said
:. north 154 feet of the south half (S. 1/2) of said Lot 4,
on and along said. corporate boundary,of the City of
Bakersfield as said corporate boundary is defined by
Ordinance No. 1332'New Series~ to intersect the westerly
boundary of the East 152 feet of the'south half'(S. i/2)
of said Lot 4;
THENCE (2) northerly along last named westerly boundary,
departing from the corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield, to intersect the westerly.extension of the

THENCE {3) easterly along said last namedL.westerly extension,
and along said corporate boundary as same is defined by'that
certain annexation designated as "South Bakersfield. District'
No. 3w' to intersect the easterly boundary of said Lot 4;
THENCE (4).southerly along last named easterly boundary, and
.along the corporate. boundary of the City of. Bakersfield
as same is defined by said Ordinance No. 1332 New Series,
to the southeast (S. E.) corner of the North 154 feet of
the south half (S. 1/2) of said Lot 4, the point of be-
ginning, containing 0,460 acres of land, more or less.
That~.a designation appropriately 'naming such territory is
"V]RDE NO. 3."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 8th dayof May, 1961,.
at the hour of eight o'clock P.M.,-in the Council Chambers of.the
City Hall,. 1501 Truxtun Avenue, BakerSfield, California,..is the time
when 'and t.he place where any person owning real property within such
territory so propbsed to be.'annexed and having any objection to the
proposed annexation may appear. before the council of. the City of
'Bakersfield, and show cause why such territory should not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIPY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by 'the Council of the Cityof Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereof held on the'3rd day of April, 1961', by the following vote:
