RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING
THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE .PAID
IN THE MATTER OP "PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO. 759," IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, California,
did, on the 14th day of February, 1961, adopt Resolution of Intention
No. 759, for the construction of certain improvements in. Public
'Improvement District No. 759, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of.the Labor COde of the
State of California, it is necessary that the Council of the City of
.Bakersfield, California, ascertain and determine the general prevailing
rate of wages on public works, and by the provisions of said Code make
it mandatory upon the awarding body of any public contract where the
sa. id body subsequently calls for bids for any public. improvement, to
ascertain and determine the prevailing rate.of per diem 'wages in the
locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type
of workman or mechanic needed to .execute the contract, and also the
general""'~r'evailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each
craft or. type of workman.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council.of. the.City of Bakersfield, Cali-
fornia, has ascertained and does hereby determine that the.general
prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the said
work described to be performed in the said resolution, for each Craft
or type of workman or mechanic needed tO execute the contract, and
also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work
for each craft and type of workman or mechanic, to be as follows:

Overtime not less than one'and one-half (1-1/2)
times the above rates.
Sundays. and-holidays not less than one and one-half (1-1/2)'
times the above rates. The holidays upon which such rates-shall be
paid shall be all holidays recognized in the collective bargaining
agreement applicable to the particular craft', classification or
or type of'workmen employed on the project.
In accordance with the provisions of SeCtion 1777.5 of the
Labor Code, as amended by Chapter 691, Statutes of 1957, and in
accordance with the regulations of the California Apprenticeship
Council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the
prosecution of the work.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the,foregoing Resolution was passed and
,adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular~ meeting
