RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE'
GREATER BAKERSFIELD SEPARATION OF'GRADE DISTRICT
CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED.AS "0SWELL N0. 1,"
AND SETTING THE-TIMEAND PLACE FOR 'HEARING
OBJECTIONS TO THE INCLUSION 0F SAID TERRITORY
WITHIN SAID DISTRICT.
.- WHEREAS, proceedings have been commenced for the annexation
of certain unincorporated ter~itory, designated as "0swell No. 1,"
to the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, all of said territory lies outside the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade District, and
WHEREAS, Section 8290 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, provides that' the unincorporated territory of a
county which was not included within a separation of grade district
at the'"time of the formation of such ·district, and which subsequent
to the formation of 'such district is annexed to or otherwise included
within a city which is a part of such district, shall immediately
upon such annexation to such city be included Within the .district and
shallthereafter become a part of the district to.the same extent as
such city; except such portion or portions 'thereof' which the City
"CounCil has determined, will not be~benefited~by~inclusion in the'
district ..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, as follows:
1. That a. description of the unincorporated territ6ry described
in the annexation proceedings, is as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State Of Cali-
fornia, and being a portion of Section·14, Township'29 South,
Range 28 East, M. D.
-.Beginning-at~ the northwest
'west quarter (S. W. 1/4), of the northwest quarter (N. W.
1/4), of said Section 14, a point· on the current corp-
orate boundary of the City of Bakersfield, '(the southwest
~quarter (S. W. 1/4), of the·northwest .·quarter (N. W. 1/4),
6f said Section 1~, is hereina.fter'referred to as Parcel A);
thence easterly, and departing' from said.corpOrate boundary,
along the northerly boundary Iof said ParCel A to the
· northeast (N. E.) corner thereof.; thence 'southerly along· the easterly boundary of said Parcel A to the southeast
(S. E.) Corner thereof; thence westerly' along the southerly
boundary of said Parcel A, to ~the northeast (N. E.),·c0rner
of the west half (W. 1/2),·, ·of' the northwest quarter (N. W.
1/4), of the southwest quarter (S.· W. l/S), of said Sec-
tion 14, (the west half (W. 1/2), of the northwest quarter
(N. N. l/S), of the southwest quarter (S.· W.' 1/4) of said
'Section 14, is hereinafter referred. to as Parcel B); thence
southerly along the easterly boundary· of said Parcel B, to
the southeast (S. E. ). corner ,thereof; thence westerly· along
the southerly boundary Of said Parcel B, to the southwest
· .'(S. W.) corner thereof; thence nor'therly along the westerly
.'·boundary of said Parcel B, to ~the southwest (S. W.,) corner
of said Parcel A, a point on the current corporate boundary
0f the City of Bakersfield; thence continuing*northerlY
along the westerly boundary of said Parcel A, on and along
said corporate boundary as described by OrdinanCe NO- 1099,.
New Series, to the northwest (N. W.) corner' of said Parcel
A, the point of beginning, containing 60 acres of land,'
more . or less.
· 2. That unless any portion shall be excluded by the City
CounCil, all portions of said unincorpOrated territyory shall upon
l annexation to the City of Bakersfield be inclUded.within the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade DistriCt.
" 3. That~Monday, the 10th 'day of 'April ~, 1961,
at the hour of eight o' clock P .M., in' the Council Chambers of the
City Hall, 1501 TruXtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California,. is the
time when and the place where, objections to inclusion within the
district will be~ heard.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was' passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 6th ~day of March , 1961, by
the following vote:
