A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL 0F. THE CITY 0F
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR-
ING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY
WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS ,0SWELL N0. 1,"
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City
of Bakersfield on .the 3rd day of ~i ~M~.F~c~..~3, 1961,. requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and
incorporated within the City of Bakersfleld, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of all of the
territory proposed to be annexed.
NOW, THEREFORE, in~ compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act ~of 1939, Chapter '297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council' of the City of Bakersfield, as
follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield are described as'fOllows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, Skate of California,
and being a portion of Section 14, Township 29 South, Range 28 East,
M.D.M.;
Beginning at the northwest (N. W.) Corner of the southwest quarter
(S. W. 174)' of the northwestquarter (N. W. 1/4), of said Section 14,
a point on the current corporate.boundary of the City of Bakersfield,
(the. southwest quarter (S. W. 1/4), of the northwest quarter (N.W. 1/4),
of said SeCtion 14, is hereinafter~referred to as Parcel A); thence
easterly, and departing from said corporate boundary, along the
northerly boUndary of said Parcel A to the northeast (N. E.) corner
thereof; thence southerly along the easterly boundary of said Parcel
A to+the southeast (S. E.) corner thereof; thence westerly along the
southerly boundary ~of said Parcel A, to the northeast (N.. E.) corner
of the west half (W. 1/2), of the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/~), of
the southwest quarter (S. W. 1/~), of said~Section 14, (the west half
(W. 1/2), of the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/~), of the southwest quarter
(S. W. 1~4) of said Section 14, is hereinafter"referredto as Parcel
B); thence southerly along the easterlyboundary of said Par. cel B,

southerly boundary of said Parcel B, to the southwest (S. W.).corner
thereof; thence northerly along the westerly boundary oflsaidParCel
B, to the southwest (S. W.) corner of said Parcel A, a point on the
cmrrent corporate boundary of the City of~Bakersfield; thence con-
.tinuing northerly along the westerly boundary of said Parcel A, on
and along said corporate boundary as described by,'0rdinance No.
1099, New. Series, to the northwest (N-;'~.) corner of said Parcel A,
the point of beginning, containing 60 acres of land, more or less.
That'a designation appropriately naming such territory is
"0SWELL 'N0.1."
BE IT FURTEER RESOLVED, that Monday, the lOth day~of Apri~
"~1961, at the'hour of eight o'clock P'.M., in the'Council'Chambers of
the city Hall, 1501 TruxtunAvenue~ Bakersfield, 'C'alifornia, is the
time when and the place where any person 0wni~"real property within
such territory so proposed to be a.nn.~exed and having any objections
to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City
of Bakersfield and show cause why such territdry should no~ be annexed·.

.. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City. of Bakersfield' at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 6th day.of March , 1961, by ~the follow-
ing vote
