TAINING TO PROJECT NO.' 2290..
WHEREAS, application has been.filed-under theFaderal
Power'Act (16 U. S. C. 791a-825r) byethe Southern CalifOrnia
Edison.Company. for license for Constructed Project No. 2290,
· located on' the Kern River,~Salmon Creek and Corral Creek in Kern l
'and ~ulare Counties, California, in the ~icinity of Bakersfield,
Bodfish, Isabeiia, Kernville and· Weld0n,. California, and affect-
ing lands of the United States within the Sequoia National Forest.
WHEREAS, the a~ea encompassed~by the'application of the '-
Southern California Edison Companyis used by the residents of
the' City of Bakersfield as a recreational ~area and is an outstand-
ing'tourist attraction which drawsthousands of visitors to Kern
CoUnty'.each year.". .." ..
WHEREAS, the City of' Bakersfield has a vital interest in
the orderly. deVelOpment of the area covered by. said-.application
· with due regard tO the conservation of the fishing and other.
recreational facilities of the area. .'
