RESOLUTION NO. 14-61
RESOLUTION OP INTENTION TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE
GREATER BAKERSPIELD SEPARATION OP GRADE. DISTRICT
CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "COLLEGE HEIGHTS
NO. 10", AND SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE POR HEAR-
ING' OBJECTIONS TO THE INCLUSION OP SAID,TERRITORY
WITHIN SAID DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been commenced for the annexation
of certain. unincorporated territory, designated =as '!Coliege Heights
No. 10",' to the City of Bakersfleld,'. and -.
.WHEREAS~ all of said territory lies ou'tside the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade District, and ,
WHERRAS, Section 8290 of, the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, provides that the' unincorporated territory' of a
county which was.'not included within a. separation.of grade district
" at the time of the formation of such district,· and which subsequent
to the formation of such district is annexed to or otherwise included
within a city which is a part of such district;. shall immediately
upon such annexation to such-city be included within the-district and
shall thereafter become a part of the'district to the same extent as
such'city-I except'such portion or portions thereof which the City
Council has determined, will not be benefited by. inclusion in the
· district. ."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Baker'sfield, as fol'lows:
1. That a description of the unincorporated territory
described in the annexation proceedings, is as follows:
A parcel of land situate in .the County of Kern, State of
California, and being a portion of the southeast'quarter'
(.S.E. 1/4) of Section 15, Township 29-South, Range 28 East,
M.D.M.:
Beginning at the northwest (N. W.)' corner of the northeast
quarter (N. E. 1/4)', of the southeast quarter (S. E. 1/4),
of said Section 15, a point on the current corporate-boundary
of the City of Bakersfield; thence.easterly along the northerly
boundary of the southeast quarter (S. E. 1/4) of said Section
15, on and along said. corporate;boundary'. as described.by
Ordinance No. 1099 New Series, to the northeast (N. E.) corner
of the southeast quarter (S. E..1/4J). of said Section 15;
thence.S. 0° 00' 35" E., along the. easterly' boundary of
said Section 15, as per map of Tract No. 1986, recorded
March 19,.1959, in Book 10 of Maps at page'115, in. the
office of the County Recorder of said Kern County and de-
parting from said corporate boundary, adistance of 932.45
feet to,a point from which the radial center of the following
described curve bears S. 89° 5~' 25"W.., distant 1000.00 feet;
thence southwesterly along said curve concave to 'the northwest
with a radius of 1000 feet, througha central angle of 44° 13'
24", a distance of'.771.84 feet to a point of tangency, from
which the radial center of last named curve bears N. 45°
11" W., distant 1000.00 feet; thence'S. 44°12, .49" W., along
said tangent a distance of 1017.74 feetto the most easterly
corner of TRACT NO. 2322, as per map recorded July 1, 1960,
in Book 11'of Maps at page 93, in the.office of the said
County Recorder, a point on the current.corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield; thence N. 45° 47"11" W., along the
northeasterly boundary of said TRACT NO. 2322, on and along
said corporate boundary as described by Ordinance No; 1291
New Series, a distance of 849.00 feet to intersect a line,
said line being the southeasterly boundary of "SIEMON PARK"
as said '~SIEMON PARK't was annexed to the City of Bakersfield
by that certain resolution entitled nOrder for annexation
contiguous territory owned by City'of Bakersfield to the City
of Bakersfield, designated as 'SIEMON .PARK~'', adopted March'
15, 1960, by the Boardof Supervisors of said Kern County and
recorded March 15, 1960, in Book 137 at page 410, Official
Minutes of said Board; thence No. 446 .12' 49" E., along last
named southeasterly boundary .a distance of 581.391 feet to
intersect the northerly boundary of the southeast quarter
(S. E, 1/4), of the southeast quarter (S.'E. 1/4), of said
Section 15; thence N. 45° 47' 11" W~, along the corporate
boundary of said City as described by Ordinance No. 1292
New Series, a distance of 45,00 feet to a point from which
the radial center of the following described Curve bears
N. 44° 12' 49"B., distant 544.15 feet; thence northwesterly
along said curve concave to the northeast. with a radius. of
544.15 feet, a distance of 148.283 feet to intersect. the
westerly boundary of the northeast quarter (N. E. 1/4), of "'
the southeast quarter (S..E. 1/4); Of 'said Section 15~ a
point. of non-tangency, from which the radial center of said
last named curve bears N..59o-49, 37""E.,'distant 544.15
feet; thence northerly alonglast named westerly boundary on
and along the corporate boundary of said City as described
by Ordinance No. llT0-New.Series, to the northwest'(N.
corner of the northeast. quarter (N. E. 1/4), of the southeast
quarter (S. E. 1/4), of said Section 15, the point of
beginning~ containing 59.4857 acres of land, moreor less.
2. That unless any port'ion shall be excluded by the City
.Council, all portions of said unincorporated territory shall upon
annexation to the City of Bakersfield be included within the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade DistriCt.
3. That Monday, the 20th-day of~March, 1961, at ~he hour of
eight o'clock P. M., in the Council Chambers~'of the City Hall, 1501
Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the
place where, objections to inclusion within the district will be
heard

I HERBBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfleld, at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 14th day of February, 1961,'by the following vote:
