RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS EMBERS
TO FILE WRITTEN ARGUMENTS FOR
CITY MEASURES.
WHEREAS, an election iS to be held in the City
of Bakersfield onFebruary 2~8, 1961, at~whic'h'there will
be submittedto the.qualified electors of said ~ity the
following city measure: '~
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL. AUDITORIUM
ADDITIONS BONDS: Shall the City of Bakersfield.
incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal sum
of $850,000 for the purpose of the acquisition and
construction by said city of a certain municipal
improvement, to wit: additions tothe municipal
auditorium and public assembly building including
an ice rink refrigeration system,.an ice rink floor
system, a pit hoist, carpeting, fixed seating,
kitchen equipment and kitchenettes~ stage draperies
and a counterweight system, stage dimmers and
control panels including portable lighting, sound'
equipment, ceramic tile wainscots, exterior painting,
aspbaltic tile flooring, acoustical tile 0nplaster,
communication equipment over the arena, together with
paving of parking areas, ornamental shrubbery and
curbs, gutters and sidewalks, and including' all
furniture, furnishings, apparatus., equipment and
other property necessary therefor?
NOW, THEREFORE~ the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE
AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1,
That this Council, being the
legislative body of the City of Bakersfield., hereby
authorizes
Richard A. Stiern
Don Doolin
John Philip Bentley
members of said body, to file a written argument for the
city measure set forth in the recitals'hereof in accordance
with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 4 of 'the Elections
Code of the State' of California and to change said
argument until and including the.date fixed by the
Clerk after which no arguments for or against 'said city
measure may be submitted to her.
