RESOLUTION APPROVI-NG PROGRAM OF
FTRE FIGHTING TRAINING.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the BakerSfield 'College to
sponsor a fire fighting training program, with 'tin service train-
ing" being~ furnished. by the Bakersfield Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, th~ Chief of .the Fire Department is in accord with
and recommends such a program of tra'ining; and
WHEREAS, it appears to this council that the benefits to be
received from such program will be-'of mutual advantage,. both to the
trainees .and the Ba~ersfield Fire Department by making available to
· said~Fire'Department additional assistance at' no extra expense to
the City,'and' .
WHEREAS, student trainees 'under 'such a program would be fully
covered by compensation insurance as' members of the' "Civil Defense
Auxiliary Fire.Department" without cost to the City of Bakersfield,
and · ·
would permit "such arrangement.' "
:,I-~-NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED' bY this Council as follows:
1. That .'approval is l~ereby 'given to the program of ~ire
fighting training being conducted by the Bakersfield COllege which
'is to be carried 'on. in conjunction with "in service training" to
be furnished by the Fire Department of the City 'of ,Bakersfield.
2. 'That .trainees accepted for said "in service' training"
shall be .limited to students actually pursuing ·said course at
WHEREAS, the National Board of Fire Underwriters Regulations
Bakersfield College, and they s'hkll be selected without discrimination'

as to place of residence.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of BakerSfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 28th day of September, 1953, by the
fol'lowing vote:
