RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING NEIGHBORHOOD
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, ANNUAL INCREMENT THEREOF
AND FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE.
WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as
amended ("Title I"), the Secretary of Housing and Urban Develop-
ment is authorized to extend financial assistance to local public
agencies in the elimination and prevention of the spread of their
slums and urban blight through undertakings and activities carried
out under a Neighborhood Development Program (NDP); and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopmerit Agency of the City of Bakers-
field, California, has prepared and submitted a proposed Neighbor-
hood Development Program and annual increment thereof covering the
NDP area described in Schedule "A" attached hereto; said proposed
NDP and annual increment having been duly reviewed and considered.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Coundil of the
City of Bakersfield, California that:
1. The Neighborhood Development Program and
annual increment are hereby approved. The
City Clerk is hereby directed to file a
copy of said NDP and annual increment with
the minutes of this meeting.
2. It is cognizant of the conditions that are
imposed in the undertaking and carrying out
of urban renewal activities with Federal
financial assistance under Title I, includ-
ing those relating to (a) the relocation of
site occupants, (b) the provision of local
grants-in-aid, and (c) the prohibition of
discrimination because of race, color, creed
or national origin.
The financial assistance available under Title
I is needed to enable the Redevelopment Agency
of the City of Bakersfield to finance the
undertakings and activities proposed in said
Neighborhood Development Program and annual
increment thereof.
The Redevelopment Agency of the City of
Bakersfield is authorized to file an appli-
cation for financial assistance to carry out
the Neighborhood Development Program and the
annual increment thereof.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a Special
meeting thereof held on the 22rid day of September, 1969, by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Bleecker, Heisey, Rees, Rucker, Stiern, Vetter,
Whirremote
