RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF "I" STREET BETWEEN 30TH STREET
AND GOLDEN STATE FRONTAGE ROAD, IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 21st day of July, 1969, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941", being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted
its Resolution of Intention No. 842, declaring its intention to
order the vacation of a portion of "I" Street between 30th Street
and Golden State Frontage Road, City of Bakersfield, California, and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 18th day of August, 1969, after
notices were duly posted as required by law, and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of "I" Street between 30th Street
and Golden State Frontage Road situate in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, more particularly described
as follows, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street
purposes:
All that portion of "I" Street in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of the intersection of
"I" Street and 30th Street as said streets are shown on that certain
map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California':',
recorded November 26, 1898, in Book 1 at Pages 13 and 14, records
of Kern County, California:
Thence (1) north, 124.53 feet along the-east line of "t" Street as-
shown on said map to the beginning of a tangent curve to the
right of 20 foot radius;
Thence (2) along said curve concave to the southeast, through a
central angle of 125o45'00'', an arc distance of 43.90 feet to
a point of tangency in a line parallel with and 81 feet south-
westerly, as measured at right angles, from the centerline of
the right of way of Golden State Avenue as said Avenue was
established by Decree of Condemnation had in Case No. 25454 in
the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the
County of Kern, a certified copy of which Decree was recorded
January 17, 1933, in Book 451, Page 467, of Official Records,
in the Office of the County Recorder of said Kern County;
Thence (3) N 54°15'W, 191.92 feet along said line to the beginning
of a tangent curve of 100 foot radius;
Thence (4) curving to the right along said curve concave to the
southwest from a tangent which bears S 54°15'E, through a
central angle of 54o15', an arc distance of 94.68 feet to a
point of tangency in the west line of "I" Street as shown on
the Map of Tract 1009 recorded November 15, 1935 in Book 4, of
maps at Pages 56, 57, and 58 in the Office of the County
Recorder of Kern County;
Thence '(5) South, 156.73 feet along the west line of "I" Street
as shown on said Map of Tract 1009 to the beginning of a
tangent curve of 15 foot radius;
Thence (6) curving to the right along said curve concave to the
northwest, through a central angle of 90°, an arc distance of
23.56 feet to a point of tangency in the north line of 30th
Street as shown on said Map of Tract 1009;
Thence (7) East, 97.50 feet along the easterly prolongation of the
north line of 30th Street to the northeast corner of the inter-
section of "I" Street and 30th Street, the point of beginning
for this description.
Reserving for purposes of a public utilities easement a strip of
property 5 feet in width, the centerline of which is parallel with
the centerline of "I" Street as shown on slid Map of Tract 1009 and
30 feet west, as measured at right angles, from said centerline of
"I" Street. The sides of said easement being lengthened or for-
shortened as required to terminate in Course (3) and Course (7) of
the herein above described parcel.
2. That said portion of "I" Street between 30th Street
and Golden State Frontage Road be and the same is hereby closed up,
vacated and abandoned for public street purposes subject to and in
conformity with the reservations and exceptions contemplated and
contained herein.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under'the' seal 'of the' Cit~,' tO Me recorded in'the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of August, 1969, by
the following vote:
