A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AND THE BOARD OF SUPER-
VISORS OF THE COUNTY OF KERN PROCLAIMING ?*~ii!?
MAY 1, 1969 AS LAW DAY USA IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AND THE COUNTY OF KERN.
WHEREAS, all Americans need just laws and cou~t~'~to
protect their lives, their p'~operty and their personal
safety and freedom; and
WHEREAS, only a people dedicated to the principles
justice and freedom under law can insure that these
vital needs are met; and
WHEREAS, the President and the Congress of the United
States have proclaimed May 1 a day for rededication to the
principles of.law in American life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield and the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Kern that May 1, 1969 be proclaimed as Law Day USA in the
City of Bakersfield and the 'County of Kern, and that citizens,
organizations and schools give appropriate recognition to this
special day.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of April,
1969, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Bleecker, Heisey,
Rees-, Rucker, Stiern, Vetter, Whittemore
NOES: None
ABSENT: N6ne
ABSTAINING: None
