WHEREAS, Public Law 89-749 (1966) authorizes the Department
of Health, Education, and Welfare to grant funds to states and
communities for the purposes of comprehensive health planning; and
WHEREAS, California Assembly Bill 1567 (1967) provides
for the establishment of a State Health Planning Council and a State
Health Planning Agency to carry out the intent of Public Law 89-749;
and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid State Health Planning Council has
urged each county to form a comprehensive health planning council
or association, and groups of counties to form regional comprehensive
health planning associations to implement the intent of'Public
Law 89-749 for area-wide health planning; and
In consonance with the foregoing, the Kern County
Comprehensive Health Planning Association has been organized to
conduct comprehensive health planning within Kern County; and
NHEREAS, authorized delegates of the Kern County
Comprehensive Health Planning Association have met with authorized
delegates from like organizations from the counties of Fresno, Kings,
Madera, Mariposa, San Luis Obispo, and Tulare and have formed the
COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH. PLANNING ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA for
the purpose of conducting comprehensive health planning in the
seven-county region;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City .~
of Bakersfield:
1. That the City of Bakersfield does hereby recognize
a~d endorse the COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH PLANNING ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL
CALIFORNIA as the organization responsible for conducting compre-
hensive health planning within the intent of Public Law 89-749
within that region of California composed of the counties of Fresno,
Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, San Luis Obispo, and Tulare; and
2. That the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield be,
and she is hereby requested to furnish copies of this resolution
to:

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakers field at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day of March, 1969, by
