A RESOLUTION OF 'E4g COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAFERSFIELD
ORDERING AND DECLARING THE DISSOLUTION OF '~LE EL CAMINO
AND THE SUNSET LIGHTING DISTRICTS LOCATED WITHIN
CITY LIMITS OF T~E CITY OF BA~<ERSFiEI~ CALIFOIj~?~
~tERFAS~ the City of Bakersfield was :'Lncorporated
January 1!~ !~98~ and became a Charter City of the State of
Ca!ifornia~ Ja'auary 20~ 1915, and
WHE~EAS~ at the time of their creation, the E1 Casino
Lighting District, formed March 31, 1941 and described by
attached and ~arked "E~htbi~ A"; and the Su~eet Lighting District~
fomed Dece~er 20~ 1948 and described by a ~p attached and ~.rked
~'E~hibit B"~ encompassed territory loca~ed beyou.0~ ~he bo~mdart. e~ of
~he City of ~rsfield~ and
~ER~S, subsequent to the fomtion of said
the territorial li~ts of the City of Bakersfield were exten~ed by'
annexation so as to surro~d and encompass that territory
the El Ca~no and ~he S~8e~ LtEhttnE Districts~ and
~IE~F~S, with the inclusion of said districts within the
City of ~[~ersfietd, it is the desire of the City ~o dissol. re the
E1 Ca~no and Sunee~ Lighting Districts to eliminate any
of services ~ and
~tE[AS~ Sectl~ 19270 of the Highways Lighting Distric~
Ac~ being ~ap~er 15~ Part 4~ Division i~ of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of Califom~ia provides for the diE~solu~
tion of e%~ch distric=s by resolution of the leVis!drive bodies of
a city declaring ~he district to be dissolved~
NOW~ ~E~FORE, BE IT MSOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bearsfie ld as follows:
'to Tha~z by virtue of ~he p~eer invested in it by
City Council of this City hereby orders and declares that the
E1 Camimo Lighting District and the S~nset Lighting Dis~:rict be
dissolved o
2o That the Clerk of the City of Bakersfield is
hereby a~Zhorized and Instruc~e~ to ~il cert!fte~ copies of
this resol%~tion and attached efnibits to the State Board of
Eq~l!zation and t~e Cc~nty Assessorals Office~ and to file ~m
colby thereof in her office as ex~officlo Clerk of t~e City
Co~lcil~ the goreriling body of said districts~
3o ~at the ~nanace Director of this City be
directed ~o request the Treasurer of the County of te~ to pay
over to the g!ty of Ba~arsfield all existing monies p~id into
the lighting f~ds of the El Camlno and Sunset Ligh%ing Di;/]tricts
as required by Section 19270 of the Streets and Highways Code,

I HEMBY CERTIFY tha~. the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfi.eid at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of October, i968~
