RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR A GRANT TO AID
IN THE ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT OF OPEN
SPACE LAND.
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development
is authorized to make grants for acquisition and development of
open space land; and
WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose
certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by
it of the local share of project costs:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute and
file an application on behalf of the City of Bakersfield with the
Department of Housing and Urban Development to aid in the financing
of the acquisition and development of open space land in the
vicinity of West High School.
2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute and
file with such application an assurance or any other document
required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development under
its Regulation effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964.
3. That Harold E. Bergen, City Manager, is authorized to
furnish such additional information as the Department of Housing
and Urban Development may require in connection with the application
or the project.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of December, 1968, by
the following vote:

1911 ACT·BONDS OF-THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
CALIFORNIA
(Public ImprovementsDistrict No. 801-A, White Lane and Hughes Lane)·
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that·pursuant to the Municipal Improve-
ment Act of 1913 (commencing with Section 10000, Streets and
Highways Code) sealed bids for street improvement bonds.of the City
of Bakersfield are invited-and will,·be taken as herein provided.
TIM AND PLACE FOR FILING-AND OPENING OF BIDS. Bids must be
sealed and filed with the CityClerk in her office, the'City Hall,
1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, up to, but no~·
later than, 10:00 A.M. on January 13 , 1969,. Bids may be
delivered personally or mailed to the City Clerk at her office
at the abov~ address. All bids so filed will be immediately
opened, examined and declared by the City Clerk at her office in
said City Hall. The City Clerk will thereafter report the results
of said bidding to the· City Council.
BID FORM. Forms of bids for the .purchase !of the' bonds are
provided by and may be obtained. from the City Clerk. All bids shall
be submitted in substantially the same form as that pr,ovided by
the City .Clerk.
THE PROJECT AND ASSESSMENTDISTRICT. The project generally
consists of the acquisition of certain rights of way for street
and other purposes and certain grading and the construction of'
certain street work in streets and easements in incorporated
territory of the City of Bakersfield and in unincorporated
territory of the County of Kern·
