RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF BUTTE STREET IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 28th day of October, 1968, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941", being Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 836, declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of Butte Street, City of
Bakersfield, California, and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting Go said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 18th day of November, 1968, after
notices were duly posted as required by law, and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of Butte Street situate in the City
of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more particu-
larly described as follows, is unnecessary for present or
prospective public street purposes:
That portion of Butte Street, (formerly "B" Street),
being bounded on the West by the East right of way
line of Beale Avenue of 100 feet in width, bounded
on the South by California Avenue of 115.5 feet in
width, and bounded on the North by Block 231, as
said block, street and avenues are shown on a map
designated as "Map of Kern, Kern County, California"
recorded April 10, 1893 in Book 1 of Maps, Page 53,
in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern
County;
Reserving, therefrom, the South 10 feet of the
North 35 feet of said portion of Butte Street for
storm drain purposes.
2. That said portion of Butte Street be and the same is
hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes
subject to and in conformity with the reservations and exceptions
contained in and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 836.
Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further
particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of November, 1968, by
the following vote:
