A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY· OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THAT A MAJORITY PROTEST
HAS NOT BEEN MADE TO THE ANNEXATION OF TERRI-
TORY DESIGNATED AS "CALIFORNIA AVENUE NO. 1"
PROPOSED· TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CI,~YOF BAKERS-
FIELD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Government Code Of the State
of California, Sections 34300 and following, proceedings have been
instituted for the annexation of certain territory designated as
"California Avenue·No 1" and
· ,
WHEREAS, pursuant to such proceedings a petition was
signed and filed for.such annexation, a resolution adopted
describing boundaries of the.territory sought to be,annexed, publi-
cations had on said resolution and a time adopted 'fOr hearing of
protests from persons owning real property in said territory,.and
WHEREAS, a hearing was duly held in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall in the City·of Bakersfield on the 5th day of
August, 1968, at the hour of eight o'clock p.m. pursuant to notices
given in compliance withtaw, and
WHEREAS, August 5, 1968, at the hour of 8:00 p.M. was
the time set for hearing protests by any person owning property
within the aforesaid territory·;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
That at the time set for hearing protests to the proposed
annexation and at the time to which said hearing was held a majority
protest has not been made by private owners of one-half the value
of the territory proposed tO be annexed, as shown by the last

to one-half of the value of said .territory, said-property being
designated·'as "California ~venue No. 1,' and more particularly
described in Resolution N0.55-68 of the City 0f Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed arid adopted by the CoUncilof'the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of Auguse, i968, by
