HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 62-68RESOLUTION NO. 62-68 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE EFFORTS OF ASSEMBLYMAN KENT STACEY, ASSEMBLYMAN WILLIAM KETCHUM AND SENATOR WALTER STIERN IN SECURING PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL 198. WHEREAS, the vital solution to the use of supplemental state water in the urban area of Bakersfield depended upon an amendment to the Kern County Water Agency Act, and WHEREAS, the appropriate amendment to said act, AB 198, was introduced into the State Legislature by Assemblyman Stacey and Assemblyman Ketchum and coauthored by Senator Stiern, and WHEREAS, by virtue of the untiring and persistent efforts of Assemblyman Stacey, Assemblyman Ketchum and Senator Stiern, AB 198 passed both the Assembly and Senate of the State Legislature and was approved by the Governor of the State of California. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The Council appreciates the efforts of Assemblyman Kent Stacey, Assemblyman William Ketchum and Senator Walter Stiern for their efforts in introducing and securing the enactment into law of Assembly Bill No. 198. 2.
