RESOLUTION OF %~E COU~CIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD REVISING ~.~E PREVAILING
RATE OF WAGES DETERMINED BY RESOLUTION
NOo 3~68 TO BE PAiD FOR DOING THE WORK
IN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NOo 821o
WHEREAS, the Cou.actZ of the City of Ba~rsfield, California
did on the 6th day of May, 1968, adopt Resolution of Intention
No o 821a for the construction of certain improvements in Public
Improvement District Noo 821~ and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Labor Code
of the S~ate of California, it is necessary that the Council of
the' City of Bakersfield~ California, ascertain and determine the
general prevailing ra~e of wages for public work~ and by the provi~
s~ons of said code, makes it mandatory upon the awarding body of any
public contract where 'the said body subsequently calls for ~ids for
any public improvement, to ascertain and determine ~he prevailing
rate of per diem wages in the localities at which the work is to
be performed~ for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed
to execute ~he contract~ and also the general prevailing rate for
legal holidays a~d overtime work for each craft or type of work~no
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, California, that said 'Council has ascertained
and does hereby determine that the general prevailinE rates of per
diem wage in the i0cality in l,~hich said work described in said
Resolution of Intention Moo 821a is to be perfo~med~ for each
craft or type of worknmn or mechanic needed to execute the contract
and also the general prevailing rate for legal holidays and over-
time Work for each craft and type of' w0~rkman or mechaniC, to 'b~e as

Employer payments other than those itemized berein~ as
defined 'in Section 1773ol of the Labor Code are ~o be paid !n
accordance with the terms of the collective bargaining agreeant
app!ieable to the type of classification of the workmen or
mechanics employed on the project.
Over~t~a, Sundays, and Holidays~ not less than one and
o~e~half (1~) times ~he basic hourly rate plus applicable employer
p~3~ents. The holidays upon which such rates shall be paid shall
be all holidays recognized in the collective bargaining agreem3nt
aplicable to the particular crafe, claseifieation or type of
wor~en employed on ~he project.
Copies of all coi!ec~ive bargaining agreements relating
to the work as set forth in the aforementioned Labor Code are on
file and available for inspection in the office of the Depto of
%ndustrial Relations~ Division of Labor S~atistics and Research.
Attention is directed to Section 7~1o01 O of the Standard
Specifications providing for employment of apprentices on the
~o~ko Every such apprentice shall be paid the standard wage
paid ~o apprentices under the regulations of the trade at which
he. is employed° %nforma~ion relative ~o emp!o~zent of apprentices
ehall ~ obtained from the Director of the Depart~n~ of industrial
