RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH ~{E DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR A GRANT TO AID
IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF SEWE~R LINES.
~tEREAS~ the Departntent of Housing and Urban Development
is authorized to make grants for water and sewer facility con-
struction; and
~{EREAS~ the contract for financial assietance will impose
certain obligations upon the applicant~ including the provision by
it of the local share of project costs:
NO~ THEREFORE, 'BE XT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfie !d as follows:
1. That the City ~.nager is authorized to execute and
file an application on behalf of the Ci~zy of Bakersfield with the
Department of Ho~slng and Urban Developr,~n~ to aid in the financing
of the construction of the Keain collector lines°
2o That 'the City Manager is authorized to execute and
file with such application an assurance or any other document
required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development ~mder
its Regulation effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964.
3o That Harold E~ Bergen~ City ~.~nager~ is authorized
to furnish such additional information as the Departmen~ of Housing
and Urban Development may require in connection with the application
or the project°

I HEREBY CERTIFY that Che foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting ~he=eof held on the 20th day of Ray, 1968, by the
following vote:
