NO o 43-68 s FOR URBAN EXTENSION PROJECT U o E o

WHEREAS~ under the provisions of Section 143.3 of the
California Streets and Highways Code, State Highway Funds my be
allocated for expendit'ure on the ~arban extensions of ~he Federal
Aid Secondary system upon projects selected by the cities and
coua~ies in cooperation with the State; and
WHEREAS, the project subject to this agreement has been
so selected by the City of Bakersfield and approved by the
Calif~raia. Highway Commission and th~ Sta~e Department of Public
W~rks and State Highway Funds are now available for the project,
and
~tEREAS, the State Depart~nent of Public ~i~orks is
required to enter into an agreement with the Local Agency rel.a~ive
to the prosecution of"'the project and the obligation of partict~
paring 'State Highway Funds°
' NOW, TdEREFORE BE 31T RESOI~VED, that Local Agency -
Sta~e Agreement No.. U'. 'E. 68-,7 Federal - Aid Secondary Roads,
City of Bakers£!eld Agreement 'No-__~_4_3-_~8 ._, is hereby app~o~ed
and the Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
