A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD OPPOSING THE PROPOSED 14 DISTRICT
PLAN.
WHEREAS, the COUNTY COMMITTEE ON SCHOOL DISTRICT
ORGANIZATION has under consideration a so-called 14 District
Plan that will divide the metropolitan area of Bakersfield into
three districts, and
WHEREAS, such a division may well adversely affect the
growth pattern of the City of Bakersfield, as well as the tax
structure in the area, and
WHEREAS, the division of the districts appears to be
inequitable in relation to the assessed value for individual
students in the three districts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City .of Bakersfield that the City of Bakersfield is opposed to
any type of redistricting that would 'divide the Bakersfield metro-
politan area, and further, that such redistricting should be accom-
plished so that the plan would be equitable in relationship to
assessed valuation per individual student.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of April, 1968,
by the following vote:
