WHEREAS~ the' City Clerk under the direction of the City
Gouncilv did in open session on the 19th day of March~ 1968, publicly
open~ examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing
the work in Public Improvement District Noo 821~ TO
The construction and installation of a water supply
system on Pierce Road~ commencing at the Kern River
Bridge on Rosedale Highway v northwest to Pierce
Road and there unto the south side of Calloway
Canal~ with an easterly extension along Gulf Street
for a distance of 1,050 feet~ and
W~EMs said proposals or bids have been duly examined by
the Superintendent of Streets and considered by said City Council
and it appearing to said Council and said City Council hereby finds
and determines that the .lowest~ re~ular~ responsible bidder. for
doing said construction work is W o M. Lyles Company; and
W~EREAS~ We Mo Lyles Company has corrected its bid so as
to reflect a decrease of $2~940o00 erroneously included for the cost
of fire hydrants to be furnished by City in accordance wi~h the
A~otice Inviting Sealed Bid Proposals~
NOW~ T~REFORE~ BE ST RESOLVED by the City Council 'of
the City of Bakersfield:
SECTION 1o
That said City Council does hereby reject all of said
pro_po~sa l_s__o~r~b_i_d__$_ s_ubmitted_.for_ .dqi~g .;the_ work~!n.~F/ab!ic~p~o_v_eme~. ....
District Noo 821 except the next heroin mentioned and hereby awards
the Contrast for doins said work and making said improvement
lowest, regular responsible bidder~ to wit: W. Mo Lyles Company at
the corrected bid price of $114 ~148 . 80 and under ~he ~erm~ and
conditions named ~n sa~d biddotes proposals~ ~he specifications and
w=~en contract ~o be executed by
