RESOLUTION NO. 19-68
'RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING ENACTMENT OF AB 600
(1968), STATE REGISTRATION OF GEOLOGIST.
WHEREAS, the practice-of ?geology affects the health,
safety and welfare of the public in the investigation and report-
ing on geological conditions'affecting construction sites; and
WHEREAS, studies by competent geologists can avoid or
minimize the effect of geologic hazards such as landslides, active
faults'and subsidence in the selection of such sites; and
WHEREAS, State'law now requires such studies prior to
final selection of school sites; and
WHEREAS, the laws of the State of California presently
do not regulate the'qualifications for a person to practice the
profession. of geology; and -
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 600(1968) will establish strict
qualifications for persons engaged in the practice of geology
throughout the State of California and provide for the regulation
of said practice;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that .the CoUncil of the
City of Bakersfield recommends the enactment of. Assembly Bill 600
(1968) in its present form and so inform the State Legislature.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the following Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the llthday of March, 1968, by the follow-
ing vote:
