RESOLUTION AFXliORIZING TMj~ FILING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH THE STATE ~.YATER POLLUTION
CONTROL AGENCY FOR A G~tANT UNDER
FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION COI~i1OL ACT~ AS
AMENDED (33 U~SoCo L~66 et seqo)
WMEREAS, the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration
in the Department of the Interior is authorized to make grants for
sewage treatment works construction~ and
WHEREAS,' the contract for financial assistance will impose
certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by
it of the local share of project costs~ and
WHEREAS, it is required by the Uo S. Department of the
Interior Regulation, issued pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights
Act' of 1964, that in connection with the filing of an application
for assistance under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as
Amended, the applicant give an assurance that it will to.reply with
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the U o So Department
of the Interior:
NOW~ TMEPj~FORE, BE XT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1o That the City Mmnager is authorized to execute and
file an application on behalf of the City of Bakersfield with the
State Water Pollution Control A.Sency to aid in the financing of the
construction of an outfall sewer, sexyage treatment and effluent
disposal facilities°
2o That the City Manager is authorized ~o execute and
file with such application an assurance or any other document
required by the U~ So Department of the Interior under its ~egulation
effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Art of 1964o
3o That Marold g~ Bergen, City Manager, is authorized
to furnish such additional information as the State Water Pollution
Control Agency may require in connection with the application or
the pro3 ec t o

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution wae
peeeed and ~dopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of March~ 1968~ by the
