RESOLUTION AU~{O.K!ZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION ~YITH THE DEPAR2~NT OF HOUSING
AND U~] DEVE~P~NT~ ~i~D S~ES OF
~RI~ FOR A ~NT ~]DER ~E URBAN ~SS
T~NSPORTATION ACT
~F~JZEtEAS; the Secretary of Housin&; and Urban Development
is authorized to make grants for mass transportation projec'~s~ and
I~E~S~ the contract for financial assistance will i~ose
certain obligations upon ~he applican~ inchdinE the pr~ision
it of the local s~re of project costs~ and
~~S~ i~ ts required by the U, S, Department of
and Urban Development ~e~ulation~ issue8 purs%mn~ to Title V~ of
the Civil Rights Ac~r of t954~ ~hat in co~ec~ion with the filing
of an application .for assistance under the Urban ~ss Transportation
Act of 1964~ as Amended= ~he appiican~ give an assurance ~t it
will comply ~i~h Title Vi of the Civil Rigb.~s Act of 1964 and the
U, S, Department of Housing and Urban Developmen~

of Bakersfield as follows:

file an application on be~if of ~he City of Bakersfield with the
U, S~ Department of Housing and Urban Development~ ~o aid
financing of the purc~se of new passenger transi~ buses,
2. ~ the City ~nager is authorized to e~ecu~e and
file with such application an assurance or any other doc'~en~
required by '~he U~ S, Department of Housing and Urban Developer
under its Re~u!ation effec~atinS Title V~ of ~he Civil Rights Act
