A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE
CITY OF BAI~FIELD REQUESTING ~ STATE
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION TO PE~tXT Tile

AND DOCIRtENTSo
WBEREAS, the City of Bakersfield is a Hunictpal
Corporation, incorporated and existing under the laws of the State
of California, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the existence of the City of
Bakersfield as a municipal corporatton~ it is entitled to particto
pate~ under a law of the State of California knM as the
Bradley°Burns Uniform Local Sales and Use Ta~ La~ in the division
of sales and use taxes collected for the City of Bakersfield by
the State Board of Equalization, and
W~EREAS, pursuant to the authorization granted in the
Bradley~Burns Uniform Local Sales and Use Tax Law, the City of
Bakersfield and the State Board of Equalization have entered into
a contract whereby the State Board of Equalization collects
certain sales and use taxes for the City of Bakersfield, and
W~EREAS~ certain sales and use ~aMee collected for the
City of Bakersfield by the State Board of Equalization pursuant to
its contract with =he City of Bakersfield under the Bradley-Burns
Uniform Local Sales and Use Tax La~ are remitted back to the City
of Bakersfield at periodic intervals as provided under that law,
and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Equalization~ pursuant to
the collection and remission back to the City of Bakersfield of
sales and use taxes collected as described in this resolution,
keeps certain books and records pertaininE to its collection of
sales taxes for the City of Bakersfield and remission of these
taxes to the City of Bakersfield~ and
%~EREAS, the Bradley-Burns Uniform Local Sales and Use
Tax Yaw provides for the right, upon reques~ of a representative
of the City of Bakersfield, or duly authori=ed or deputi=ed employee
of the representative of the City of Bakersfield~ to examine ~nd
~udi~ all or any par~ of the sales and use
Board of Equalization a~ described in ~hie remolu~ion, and
~~$~ it is the desire of ~he Ci~y Co~cil of the
City of Bake=afield t~t ~he Audi~or~Con~o~ler o[ ~he Cl~y of
Bakerafield and ~uch ~mber~ of h~ ~ff
