RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF'
BAKERSFIELD ACTIVELY SUPPORTING THE LOCATION
OF PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY POWER
PLANT IN DIABLO CANYON, SAN LUIS OBISPO
COUNTY. .
WHEREAS, the'Pacific Gas and Electric ComPanY has
selected'a location near Diablo Canyon within the County of
San Luis ObiSpo as the site for-its next atomic orConventional
fuel power plant; and
,~¢_~ WHEREAS, said Diablo Canyon site has been .approved
by the Resources Agency-of California;and
WHEREAS, leading conservation groups~ including the
Sierra Club, and Conservation Associates, have endorsed said
site; and ·
WHEREAS, it is evident that' additional amounts of
electric power must be generated' at Diablo Canyon to meet
increasing demands for energy c'reated by Kern County's dynamic
economic development and by adjacent" areas served by Pacific
Gas and Electric eompany.
NOW, THEREFORE, .BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Bakersfield actively supports the location of Pacific Gas
and Electric Company power plant in Diablo Canyon, San Luis
Obispo County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the .foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by'the CounCil of ~the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the' 17th day of April,
1967,'by the rollowing vote: "
