A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO DONATE SURPLUS POLICE
DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department possesses surplus equipment
including vehicle #5449 (1981 Armored GMC Van); and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department has removed all identifying decals,
markers, and stamps from such equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be conducting a Large Vehicle
Bomb School in November ;and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department would like to donate vehicle #5449
to the FBI for consideration of $1.00, to be used as the target in its Large Vehicle Bomb
School; and
WHEREAS, in appreciation for said donation will allow two BPD officers a seat in
the class at no charge to the City; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
The above recitals and findings are true and correct and incorporated herein
by reference.
2. The Finance Director, in accordance with Bakersfield Municipal Code
(3.20.120(f), is authorized to sell the above referenced surplus equipment to
the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the total amount of $1.00.
