A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CALLING THE NOMINATING MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR AND
PROVIDING FOR THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID
ELECTION WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DIRECT
PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON JUNE 5, 1984.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 20(j) of the Bakersfield
City Charter, the Nominating Municipal Election for the office of
Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of four (4)
years shall be held concurrently with the State of California
Direct Primary Election; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Direct Primary Election
will be held on the 5th day of June, 1984.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the Nominating ~4unicipal Election for the
office of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of
four (4) years is hereby called and will be held on Tuesday, June
5, 1984.
2. That said Nominating Municipal Election for the
office of Mayor is hereby ordered consolidated with the State of
California Direct Primary Election to be held on June 5, 1984,
subject to Sections 23300 eto seq. of the Elections Code of the
State of California.
3. That the polls will be open for the purpose of
holding said elections on said 5th day of June, 1984, between the
hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
4. That the names of the candidates for Mayor to appear
upon the ballot will be filed with the County Clerk no later than
81 days prior to the election.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of January, 1984, by
the following vote:
