A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONCURRING IN AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO THE KERN COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
PLAN - 1983 REVISION.
WHEREAS, the Nejedly-Z'berg Dills Solid Waste Management
and Resource Recovery Act (hereafter referred to as the "Act")
required each county in cooperation with affected local jurisdic-
tions, to prepare a comprehensive, coordinated solid waste manage-
ment plan; and
WHEREAS, the County of Kern has prepared the Kern
County Solid Waste Management Plan - 1983 Revision, hereafter
referred to as CoSWMP); and
WHEREAS, the Act required that an amendment to the
CoSWMP shall be subject to the approval by a majority of the
cities within the county which contain a majority of the population
of the incorporated area of the county; and
WHEREAS, the County of Kern has prepared a proposed
Amendment No. 1 to the CoSWMP, changing the location for the
proposed site of the McFarland - Delano Sanitary Landfill, a
description of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and herein
incorporated by this reference; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the County of
Kern has prepared a Negative Declaration in relation to the pro-
posed amendment, a copy of which is on file with the County
Clerk; and
WHEREAS, this Council has this date held a public
hearing regarding the proposed amendment to the CoSWMP, pursuant
to notice of such hearing published in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Bakersfield at least seven (7) days
prior to such hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of
the City of Bakersfield has reviewed and hereby approves said
Amendment No. 1 to the Kern County Solid Waste Management Plan
1983 Revision.

Kern County Solid Waste
Management Plan
1983 Revision
Amendment #1
The County of Kern hereby shall amend the County Solid Waste Management
Plan - 1983 Revision as follows:
Item 1: Page 39, in the table titled "Site Locations of Proposed Solid
Waste Facility Sites in Kern County" under the heading McFarland-Delano
Sanitary Landfill is hereby amended to read:
(a) SW~ of Section 6, T.25S., R.25E., MDB& M.
or
(b) Portion of the N½ of the NE¼ of Section 22, T.25S., R.25E.,
MDB& M.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be
held before the Council of the City of Bakersfield at 7:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, February 22, 1984, or as soon thereafter as the
matter may be heard, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, for the purpose of
considering giving approval to Amendment No. 1 to the Kern County
Solid Waste Management Plan, 1983 Revision, proposed by the
County of Kern and involving a change in the location of the
proposed site for the McFarland - Delano Sanitary Landfill.
