Z0110 0 B A K E R S F I E L' D CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councill November 21, 2007 r FROM: Alan Tandy, City Manager SUBJECT: General Information 1 . Our application to the State Infrastructure Bank for Mill Creek was approved in the amount of $10 million. Both the southern and northern portions of the project can now be constructed over the next 12 — 18 months! 2. Documents have been executed which should result in the dismissal of the lawsuit on the West Ming project. 3. It appears that the tenant on half of the fourth floor of City Hall North (formerly Borton, Petrini and Conron) will move by year end. That is the space designated for the City Attorney's office, whose precise moving date has not been established. 4. On the December 12th agenda, we anticipate having an item which waives normal formal bid requirements to construct a box culvert associated with the Allen Road Bridge project. Last minute negotiations with the canal company resulted in an opportunity to save about a million dollars, but only if a box culvert can be built almost immediately during the period the canal is dry. Informal, rather than formal bid procedures are the only way to accomplish that. Please call if you have questions or concerns. 5. Enclosed are photos from the Fairfax/178 project where about 600 truck loads of dirt a day are being moved. 6. The Streets Division work schedule for the week of November 26th is enclosed.
