A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF HEIGHT STREET BETWEEN MT. VERNON
AVENUE AND SUNNY LANE IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 3rd
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant
"Public Streets, Highways and Service
being Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division
day of August, 1983, the Council
to the provisions of the
Easements Vacation Law,"
9 of the Streets and
Highways Code of
its Resolution of
order the vacation of
Mt. Vernon Avenue and
County of Kern, State
the State of California, passed and adopted
Intention No. 972 declaring its intention to
a portion of Height Street between
Sunny Lane in the City of Bakersfield,
of California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed
vacation, which said hearing was held on the 14th day of
September, 1983, after notices were duly published and posted
as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council
does hereby find and resolve as
1. That a portion of
after duly considering the matter,
follows:
Height Street between Mt. Vernon
Avenue and Sunny Lane in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, more particularly described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof, is unnecessary for
present or prospective public street purposes.
2. That a portion of Height Street between Mto Vernon
Avenue and Sunny Lane be and the same is hereby closed up,
vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to
and in conformity with any reservations and exceptions contained
in and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 972.
Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for
further particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 14th day of September, I983,
by the following vote:

A parcel of land situated in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State
of California, being a portion of Section 21, Township 29 South, ~ange 28
East, M.D.B. & M., more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of s~qid Section 21, as said corner is
shown on the map of Relinquishment Request No. 7B649 recorded October 7,
1969 in State ttighway b1~p Book 3 at page 82 in the Office of the Kern County
Recorder; thence South 00° 17' 39" West along the east line of said Section
21 and the centerline of bit. Vernon Avenue a distance of 922.27 feet to
intersect the centerline of Ileigbt Street; thence, South 69° 29' 08" West
along the last named center12ne a distance of 488.07 feet; thence North
20° 30' 52" West a distance of 40 feet to a point on the northerly right
of way line of tleight Street and the Point of BeginMng for this descrip-
tion;
THENCE (1) South 66° 42' 55" West a distance of 206.916 feet;
TIIENCE f2) North 00° 15' 47" East a distance of 26.74 feet;
THENCE (3) North 69° 29' 08" East a distance of 147.19 feet;
TttENCE (4) North 86° 11' 10" East a distance of 52.20 feet to the Point
of Beginning.
