A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO
DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A PROJECT CONVERTING
TO MORE EFFICIENT STREET LIGHTING AND
QUALIFYING FOR PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC
COMPANY INCENTIVE REBATES.
WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission has
authorized funding for a 1983 Energy Management Incentive Program~
and
WHEREAS, Pacific Gas & Electric Company has allocated
budgeted funds for Energy Management Incentives including the up-
grading of customer-owned street and highway liyhting; and
WHEREAS, conversion of street and/or highway lighting
owned by the City of Bakersfield to more efficient lighting
qualifies for the incentive program and will result in lower
energy costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakerstield that the City Engineer develop a project
description, purchase necessary material, arrange for construction
by City forces, and apply for Pacific Gas & Electric Company
Incentive Rebates.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
