Home My WebLink AboutRES NO 40-83RESOLUTION NO. 40-83 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD DESIGNATING THE URBAU BOUNDARY, CLASSIFYING CERTAIN ROADS BY FUNCTIONAL USAGE, AND ADOPTING TIlE FEDERAL-AID URBAN SYSTEM. WHEREAS, under regulations issued by the Secretary of Transportation under the Federal-Aid Highway Act (Title 23 U.S. Code), the City of Bakersfield with the concurrence of the California Department of Transportation, has been designated to establish an urban boundary limit for the expenditure of Federal-Aid Urban funds, to select a Federal-Aid Urban System in the City of Bakersfield from the roads classified by functional usage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. This Council concurs in and approves the changes to the urban boundary and the classification of roads by functional usage as graphically shown on Exhibit "A", entitled "Urbanized Area and Functional Usage Changes", on file in City Engineer's Office, and listed in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and hereby made a part of this resolution. 2. This Council designates all the roads classified as collectors or higher to be on the Federal-Aid Urban System, and to be eligible for Federal-Aid in the City of Bakersfield, State of California, subject to the concurrence of the California Department of Transportation and approval of the Federal Highway Administration, except that State Highway Routes 58, 99, 178 and 184 shall be on the Federal-Aid Primary System. 3. All roads not classified as collectors or higher shall be classified by functional usage as local roads and streets.
