RESOLUTION NO. 0 6 4 - 0 9
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF
RESIDENTIAL REFUSE FEES BY THE KERN COUNTY
AUDITOR-CONTROLLER'S OFFICE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 8.32 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code authorizes
the establishment and increase of fees and charges to recover costs for services
rendered; and
WHEREAS, the CITY has calculated the annual rate for residential refuse
collection fees and service charges; and
WHEREAS, the fees and charges set forth in Exhibit "A," attached
hereto and incorporated by reference as though fully set forth herein, do not exceed the
reasonable estimated cost of providing the services for which the fees are charged.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the collection of said
charges is necessary for Fiscal Year 2009-2010, and that the rates set by City Council
action on June 11, 2008 for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 will continue and not be increased
for Fiscal Year 2009-2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. The above recitals and findings are true and correct and are incorporated
herein by reference.
2. The fees and charges set forth in Exhibit "A" are hereby adopted and
shall become effective on July 1, 2009.
3. Pursuant to the Bakersfield Municipal Code, the fees and charges herein
shall be collected by the Kern County Tax Collector on the property tax
rolls.
4. The adoption of these fees and charges complies with Proposition 218.
