A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 118-94
REVISING THE PENALTY FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS IN
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in July of 1994, the City Council for the City of Bakersfield passed
Resolution No. 118-94 revising the penalties for parking violations, late payment
penalties, administrative fees, and other charges related to parking violations in the City
of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, in late 2007, the City Council considered and determined the
amount of fines for violating Bakersfield Municipal Code sections 10.32.140 and
10.44.060, which restrict parking of commercial vehicles on city streets; and
WHEREAS, on September 26, 2007, the City Council passed Resolution No.
118-94(1), revising the penalty amount for violating Bakersfield Municipal Code section
10.44.060 from $65.00 to $150.00; and
WHEREAS, Bakersfield Municipal Code section 10.32.140 was mistakenly
omitted in Resolution No. 118-94(1); and
WHEREAS, the penalty amount for Bakersfield Municipal Code section
10.32.140, which restricts the parking of commercial vehicles in a residential district,
should be increased from $65.00 to $150.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein
by reference.
2. Resolution No. 118-94 is hereby amended to reflect that the penalty for
violation of Bakersfield Municipal Code section 10.32.140 is $150.00 per violation.
3. All other provisions of Resolution Nos. 118-94 and 118-94(1) remain in
effect.
