ZJ: 0 I 8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10.08.020 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. Section 10.08.020 is hereby amended to read as follows: 10.08.020 Generally. Whenever in this division the following words and phrases set forth in this section are used, they shall for the purpose of this division have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section: A. "Central traffic district" means all of the area within the boundary of the following streets: from the west line of F Street to the east line of Q Street, from the north line of 25th Street to the north line of 15th Street (Santa Fe Railroad Tracks), except 23rd and 24th Streets. B. "Holidays" means all legal holidays recognized as such by the state shall be considered holidays within the meaning of this division. C. "Loading zone" means that space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials. D. Old Town Kern means all of the commercial area within the boundaries of the following streets: Highway 178 to the north, Truxtun Avenue to the south, Q Street to the west and Beale Avenue to the east. E. "Passenger loading zone" means that space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or the depositing of mail in adjacent mailboxes. F. "Traffic authority" means an officer of the city designated by the city council, which designation shall be by resolution of said city council. Whenever and wherever in any section of this division, certain responsibilities or duties are imposed upon the city manager and/or the chief of police, such responsibilities and/or duties shall be deemed to be imposed upon the duly and regularly appointed traffic authority. This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after the date of its passage. .......... ooOoo ..........
