approximately 2 f~et below the bottom of the fuel piping trenGh inve~t. These samples
wer~ collected at approximate 20 foot intervals aJong fuel product pipeline routes.
These samples are labeled with a"PL'° prefix on the attach+~d laboratory report.
Fuel DispEnsers - Ten (10j samples were coflected from beneath the five fuef
dispensers. Samples were collected at depths of 2 and 6 feet below each disp~nser.
These sar~ples are I~beled with a°D" prefix on the att~ch~d laboratory report.
Underqround Tanks - Twelve (12} samples were colfected from beneath the two 20,000

location. 1'hese samples are labele~d with a"TS" ~rn the attached laboratory report.
Soil samples were collected by Kleinfelder staff with the assistance of the backhoe and
operator of the UST removal contract~r. Samples were collected directly from a
backhoe bucket by driving a stainless steel tube into native soil, capping each end with
Teflon, and placing the sample into an ice-cooled c1~~st pending laboratory analysis.
Four field "duplicate" samples were also collected. One duplicate was obtained from
each of the two sampling areas invoEving pipelines ar~d dispensers, and fwa duplicates
we~e collected an~ analyzed from sampfes collected at the UST vault ~i.e. TS6L~ a~2 is

the dupli~cate UST sample at loeatian No. 6 ct~llected from a depth of 2 feet below the
bottom of the tank}.
Sample Analysis
A total of 33 soi! samples wer~ delivered under chain-of-custody protoco) to Enviro-
Chem, (nc., a state-certified analytical labaratory. Samples were analyzed for:
+ total petraleum hydrocarbons q~aantified as g~soline (TPH~g} using EPA method
5030B/80156, and
• methyi tertiary butyl ether (MTBE}, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
xylenes (BTEX} using ERA method 5030B/8021 B.
The soil samples were analyzed vn a standard turnaround (approximately 5 working
days). Field worlc was completed under the ctirection of a California-licensed geologist.
Analytical Results
As pravided 'rn the attached laboratory repo~t #rom Enviro-Chem, Inc., analytical results
for all soil sampfes submitted indicate that none of the analytical parameters were
repo~ted above the minimum practic~l quantit~tian Iimit (PQL~. Copies ofi the sample
ch~in-of-custody form and Yaboratory analyti~~l reports for samples submitted are
attached.
Re~ommendations
Kleinfelder recammends ~hat a copy of this r~port be provided to the BFp along with
other required UST closure documentation.
