PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the regular meeting of the
Planning and Development Committee of the City Council scheduled
for Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Conference Room A,
First Floor, City Hall North, 1600 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield,
California, has been canceled.

SUBJECT: Cancellation of the Planning and Development Committee Meeting
of August 6, 2009
Committee Chair Scrivner has agreed to the cancellation of this meeting. The
only agenda item was consideration of actions to get a new Habitat
Conservation Plan in place to facilitate development in Metropolitan Bakersfield
when the current Plan expires.
A lawsuit filed by the Home Builders Association of Kern County (HBA) on August
4, 2009 has seriously threatened future development potential. Analysis of that
lawsuit and threat are necessary before consideration of the Habitat
Conservation Plan can proceed.
