Thompson Distributors, will be delivering 500 Christmas food baskets to families in need throughout Kern County on Thursday, December 17th, 2009. This is the 25th anniversary for this annual event which is made possible through generous donations from benefit associations, volunteer organizations, and business owners from Kern County. The Christmas food baskets consist of two large boxes of food, including a turkey, potatoes, onions, beans, peas, oranges, apples, canned goods, yams, margarine, drinks, and other foods as donations allow. Families who receive a food basket are chosen from referrals made by officers and deputies from from both agencies. Officers and deputies also volunteer their time to deliver the baskets, often times to the very families they have referred to the program. This program is a great opportunity for members of both agencies to make a positive impact on the citizens we serve. Thompson Distributors 5101 District Blvd. Delivery of Baskets will start on Thursday December 17, 2009 at 7:15 a.m. also at W. A. Thompson Distributors 5101 District Blvd.
