Larry Maldonado was arrested on 12/14/09, at 6:30 p.m., in the 200 block of Grove Street for five counts of petty theft with a prior, five counts elder abuse, one count of burglary and
attempt petty theft with a prior. He was booked into the Kern County Jail. Original Release December 14, 2009 The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance
in locating the following suspect who is wanted for theft, burglary, financial elder abuse and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for theft. Larry Maldonado, Hispanic male 46 years old,
5’5” tall, 165 pounds Maldonado has been identified as responsible for multiple offenses wherein he contacted unsuspecting victims and requested to borrow money to assist him with various
family emergencies. Maldonado used ruses, such as stating his daughter was injured the previous night and had to be taken to a hospital in the Los Angeles area and he needed money to
visit her, or that one of his parents had been injured, taken to UCLA Medical Center and subsequently died, and he needed to borrow money to ship the body back to Bakersfield. Maldonado
took the money in all of these cases and never returned it. Maldonado is believed to be actively committing similar offenses. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged
to call Detective Bob Grady at 326-3871 or 911 if Maldonado is observed.
