RESOLUTION NO. 0 0 4
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE CITY
MANAGER, FIRE CHIEF, OR DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF ARE
APPOINTED AS AGENTS AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE
ANY ACTIONS NECESSARY FOR THE PURPOSE OF
OBTAINING GRANTS FROM THE CALIFORNIA
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY.
WHEREAS, the California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA) has
made available a grant in the amount of $205,000 to be spent on the purchase of
hazardous materials equipment; and
WHEREAS, as required by Grant guidelines, the City Council needs to approve
the filing of the application for the $205,000 grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to appoint the City Manager, Fire Chief, or
Deputy Fire Chief to be the Authorizing Agent, thereby signing and submitting all
documents necessary to the grant application process and any other documents
necessary to comply with the grant guidelines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference;
2. The City Manager, Fire Chief, or Deputy Fire Chief are hereby authorized
to execute for and on behalf of the City of Bakersfield, a public entity established under
the laws of the State of California, any actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining
grant financial assistance provided by Cal EMA.
