HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010_01_28_10_Burglary Ring BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Greg Williamson, Chief of Police ________________________________________________________________________ Contact: Sergeant Mary DeGeare Public Information Officer 661-326-3803 mdegeare@Bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release January 28, 2010 On 1/26/10, Bakersfield Police arrested Philip Perry 51, Ryan Watson 34, and Scott Thompson 41, for multiple counts of commercial burglary. The three were identified as individually or collectively to be responsible for burglaries at the Go Go Mini Mart, 3699 Wilson Road, Lens Crafters, 2724 Ming Avenue, Chevron Gas Station Market, 4100 California Avenue, Blockbuster Video, 1901 White Lane, Vi’s Cocktail Lounge on Rosedale Highway and the Sonic on Taft Highway. All three suspects were arrested for the charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy. The Police Department and Kern County Sherriff’s Department have worked together during this investigation and the group is believed to be responsible for multiple burglaries within both jurisdictions. Perry, Watson, Thompson and Timothy Blanton 19, were caught in the act and arrested in November by Bakersfield Police patrol officers during the commission of a burglary to Watermill Express, 3600 Wilson Road. Perry was also just arrested on 1/14/09, for the burglaries at the Auburn Animal Hospital. 11/11/09 Animal Hospital-Perry Chevron 10/28/09-Thompson Surveillance photos previously distributed to media in an attempt to identify suspects.
