Officers located a 15 year old male who had been shot twice in the upper body and was transported to a local hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Witnesses in the area reported the shooting immediately and provided officers with a detailed description of the suspects. Within minutes, officers located the two suspects, ages13 and 17, in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Blvd. The 17 year old was taken into custody immediately and the 13 year old was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. The firearm has been located Investigation revealed that the 15 year old male was walking in the area of East 10th and South Owens when he was approached by the suspects who were riding bikes. The suspects got off of their bikes and approached the victim. As the victim tried to run, the two suspects chased him and one of the two suspects shot at him multiple times. The two suspects have been arrested for attempted murder. The shooting appears to be gang related and officers are still investigating the possibility of charging the suspects with participation in a criminal street gang charges.
