Information Officer 661-326-3803 mdegeare@Bakersfieldpd.us FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 4, 2010 On 6/4/10, at about 2:20 a.m., Bakersfield Police responded to a report of a stabbing victim
at 1209 Telegraph Avenue. Officers located Andrew Joseph Zamarron 32, down in the front yard suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported by ambulance to KMC where he was
pronounced dead a short time later. Investigation revealed Zamarron was involved in an argument with Jose Angel Ramos 19 and subsequent physical altercation took place in the front yard
during which Ramos stabbed Zamarron numerous times. Once the victim was down, Ramos fled. Ramos surrendered himself at the police building today at 2:15 p.m. He was arrested for the
murder. Anyone with information regarding this homicide is encouraged to call Detective Patrick Hayes at 326-3541.
