HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010_06_07_Wanted for questioning_Telegraph Murder BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Greg Williamson, Chief of Police ________________________________________________________________________ Contact: Sergeant Mary DeGeare Public Information Officer 661-326-3803 mdegeare@Bakersfieldpd.us FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 7, 2010 The Bakersfield Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating two subjects wanted for questioning as witnesses and/or involvement after the fact in the June 4, 2010 murder of Andrew Joseph Zamarron at 1209 Telegraph Avenue. Detectives are searching for Briana McGill, 19 years old, 5’7” tall, 152 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes and Ray Bryant, 33 years old, 5’7” tall, 285 pounds, brown shaved hair and brown eyes. Bryant also is wanted for parole violation. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of McGill or Bryant is urged to call Detective Patrick Hayes at 326-3541. Original Release June 4, 2010 On 6/4/10, at about 2:20 a.m., Bakersfield Police responded to a report of a stabbing victim at 1209 Telegraph Avenue. Officers located Andrew Joseph Zamarron 32, down in the front yard suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported by ambulance to KMC where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Investigation revealed Zamarron was involved in an argument with Jose Angel Ramos 19 and subsequent physical altercation took place in the front yard during which Ramos stabbed Zamarron numerous times. Once the victim was down, Ramos fled. Ramos surrendered himself at the police building today at 2:15 p.m. He was arrested for the murder.
