a suspect wanted for attempted rape. On 7/9/10, at about 9:45 a.m., Bakersfield Police responded to a report of an attack which occurred in the shaded area between the Bike Trail parking
lot and the Bike Trail adjacent to Manor Street and Denise Avenue. The 35 year old female victim reported she was approached by the suspect while she was walking her dog. The suspect
grabbed her and threw her to the ground then made attempts to kiss her face and statements which suggested he intended to rape her. The victim yelled and fought and the suspect let her
go then ran eastbound through the Bike Trail tunnel which runs under Manor Street. A witness also saw the suspect running, after the offense, and observed him to double back across Manor
Street and enter a vehicle which was parked in the Bike Trail parking area. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, late 20s early 30s, 5’9” tall, 180 pounds, wearing a dark blue
baseball cap on backward, grey t shirt and blue work pants or jeans. (A computer generated composite is attached) The vehicle is described as a grey 1986 model possible Nissan truck
possibly having gardening equipment in the bed.
