A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT
BRIDGEPORT MANUFACTURING PARTS
CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED
THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES
AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR
TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR AND
PURCHASE BRIDGEPORT MANUFACTURING
PARTS FROM REFUSE POWER SYSTEMS, NOT TO
EXCEED $607,000.
WHEREAS, Bridgeport Manufacturing bodies are installed on several CITY
refuse trucks; and
WHEREAS, City intends to refurbish seven (7) side loader refuse trucks that
have Bridgeport Manufacturing bodies with Original Equipment Manufacturer
(OEM) replacement parts; and
WHEREAS, Bridgeport Manufacturing replacement parts can only be
acquired through the dealer/representative for the state of California, Refuse
Power Systems; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase Bridgeport Manufacturing replacement
parts because of the necessity to refurbish City owned refuse trucks to original
equipment standards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The work, supplies, equipment or materials can only be reasonably
obtained from one vendor because of the need to refurbish refuse trucks to the
original equipment manufacturer standards.
3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in
accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
4. The expenditure of funds for said work, supplies, equipment or material
shall not exceed Six Hundred Seven Thousand Dollars ($607,000).

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held
on OCT 13 2010 , by the following vote:
