Information Officer 661-326-3803 mdegeare@Bakersfieldpd.us FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 22, 2010 The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating
family members or friends of a possible victim of a crime or accident. On 10/4/10, at about 1:20 a.m., police and medical aid responded to a woman injured in the 300 block of South Union
Avenue and who was subsequently transported to Kern Medical Center. Police contacted the woman identified as Catherine Rose Steels 44 at KMC. Steels was injured but communicative and
she evasively reported she had jumped out of a moving vehicle to sustain her injuries. At that time, her injuries did not appear to be life threatening. Steels has since slipped into
an unconscious state and neither investigators nor KMC have been able to locate family members. Steels last documented address is in Fresno CA. Anyone who is familiar with Steels or
the circumstances which led to her injuries is encouraged to contact Detective Murphy at 661-326-3861.
