A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CHART
LNG VEHICLE TANKS CANNOT BE
REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL
BIDDING PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE
FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH
BIDDING THEREFOR AND PURCHASE CHART
LNG VEHICLE TANKS FROM AFV FLEET
SERVICE, NOT TO EXCEED $60,000.
WHEREAS, Chart LNG vehicle tanks are the City standardized brand of LNG
tanks based on performance tests; and
WHEREAS, City intends to supply four (4) LNG tanks to Bridgeport
Manufacturing as part of a side loader refuse truck refurbishing project; and
WHEREAS, Chart LNG vehicle tanks can only be acquired through the
distributor, AFV Fleet Service as named by Chart Industries, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to supply Chart LNG vehicle tanks to refurbish refuse
trucks in accordance with City standards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The work, supplies, equipment or materials can only be reasonably
obtained from one vendor because of the need to refurbish refuse trucks to the
original equipment manufacturer standards.
3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in
accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
4. The expenditure of funds for said work, supplies, equipment or material
shall not exceed Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000).

HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held
